Trainee SPMT Operator – Avonmouth Docks

A permanent Trainee SPMT Operator,  role, based in Avonmouth Docks, Bristol/various UK locations. As a key member of the Osprey team and be responsible for following directions from SPMT Operators to ensure assets and other equipment are being operated in line with produced engineering and Osprey processes.

The Trainee SPMT Operator will be a key member of the Osprey team and responsible for executing onsite operations using SPMTs and rigging equipment. Working as part of the SPMT team, you will be responsible for the full life cycle within a project, such as working to QHSE standards, following detailed RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statement) and engineering drawings, mobilisation/demobilisation of equipment and operating the SPMTs.

The Trainee SPMT Operator is accountable for:

  • Supporting Operational Delivery – ensuring that all operations are carried out in a safe and effective manner by following the Osprey Way of Working.
  • Site Relationships – developing and maintaining effective working relationships with Osprey colleagues and supporting client conversations when required.
  • Development of SPMT Expertise – develop and understand SPMT operations through both on-site operations (to include performing basic maintenance, inspections etc.) and off-site study.
  • Professional Development – as a trainee, and as part of the heavy lift team, you are accountable for ensuring you engage and complete all professional development and training, as required, to support the development of your knowledge and capability in this role.
