Osprey Group appoint Wendy Kenny to COO

Wendy Kenny’s appointment to COO is testament to Osprey’s ‘point of difference’ for clients demanding schedule-saving specialist logistics.

Kenny’s focus and purpose highlight the reasons why many customers prefer working with Osprey: “Traditionally, a Chief Operating Officer oversees the day-to-day functions of many different business units, and how they can work better, together to achieve long term goals – that goes without saying. But for me personally, there’s going to be a strong emphasis on ensuring our family values are highly visible, that they remain at the heart of what we offer. Our sense of connectivity and caring about the way we work closely with our clients and how we work as a business – that’s how we make a difference, and ultimately, that is how we find ways to reduce client-costs without compromising on safety or cutting corners.

“My role involves being hands-on at every level. I want to be sure we can show our clients, multi-disciplinary expertise really does permeate through and across our business. Over the last few years, for example, our projects have ranged from loading out the world’s largest tidal turbine off the Scottish coast, to bringing in the most powerful steam turbine down at Hinkley Point. But wherever we’re working it’s my responsibility to ensure we get every different strand of Osprey’s experience to the table, in the planning and execution of each project. Our QHSE capabilities, for example, are never taken for granted and, more than once, they’ve led to innovation we can then share industry wide.”

Kenny has been promoted to COO after a period of embedding in all parts of Osprey’s business units. “In particular, I’m using that experience to find new ways we can help clients align their plans with an accelerated transition to Net Zero. It’s not just through acquisition of the right equipment, it’s our ethos that matters. It is possible to deliver specialist logistics that amplify the renewables narrative in every sector – and to do so at a level that’s more in tune with the need to drive cost-efficiencies. Quite rightly that’s becoming more and more important to all of our clients, and it’s something I’m determined to deliver. ”
