Civil Infrastructure

Major infrastructure, installed safely

We work closely with civils partners from the outset, delivering on time and on budget, with the minimum risks to people, equipment and the environment. Our ‘north star’ is the benefits being derived from environmentally focused legacy – we’re never satisfied with ‘just enough’.

When it comes to delivering project-critical assets, our unique approach sets us apart in the engineered heavy lift sector. Road, rail, industrial projects. We engage early with refined engineering to minimise risk and shorten build schedules whenever we can. In the process, we minimise disruption.

We push boundaries and challenge convention to create real value for every stakeholder. Combined with an in-house inventory that’s second to none, this approach makes Osprey a compelling choice.

THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT

Owning equipment is easy, but bringing it together with world-class engineering, extensive experience and a singular focus on safety, creates something special.

  • We have an in-house fleet of heavy mobile and crawler cranes, crewed by some of the best operators in the UK.
  • We overcome complex challenges with our UK-based, permanent SPMT fleet.  To date, it’s the only fleet featuring Euro 5 compliant power packs.
  • We also own world-class lifting and jacking equipment, including Enerpac’s JS250 system and gantry systems, all supported by in-house steelwork and packing.
  • Our onshore inventory is complemented by the UK’s largest fleet of flat-top barges and their associated equipment.

CASE STUDY

INNOVATING WITH OUR JACKING SYSTEM

Our heavy lift teams move and install all kinds of bridges for road and rail clients. Each time we’re involved, we try to add valuable insights to the project. At Bewsey Street, we removed and replaced a Structure 129 railway bridge during a 72-hour possession on behalf of J Murphy & Sons Limited.

  • Swept path analysis, minimising disruption and navigating trees and street furniture with confidence.
  • Lifting the 150te bridge with our Enerpac JS250 system aboard a 10-axle, 4-file SPMT arrangement.
  • Stooling at height, away from the site, lowering the infrastructure with our 450te gantry system.
  • Loading the new 26m long, 350te bridge on SPMTs, installing less than 18 hours after the existing bridge was lifted clear.
