Our Why
CREATING CLIENT VALUE
We find the best possible way to work better, together.
The combination of our subject matter expertise and your project knowledge ensures a distinct advantage. It’s the power of ‘us’. It’s why we’re the UK market leader for all logistics in nuclear construction, and also in engineering heavy lift solutions for civil and industrial installations.
- At Hinkley Point C, for example, we were chosen as the Tier 1 supplier because we’re the only British firm with the skill sets, experience and in-house resources to deliver a brand new Shared Services model.
- Similarly, for the onshore renewables industry, we believe Osprey’s advantage is a deeper level of understanding – higher hub heights are an advantage but until they start generating, they’re stranded capital, so we choose cranes and crews that let us complete those installations safely, faster. Relocation times are crucial. We’re reducing timeframes for first electricity.
We provide supply surety and we deliver our engineering solutions in an open way, explaining what we’re doing, how, and why. As experienced operators of our own equipment, we can usually find better solutions for the problem in hand. It’s a multi-disciplined approach, guided by that north star – the benefits being derived from environmentally focused legacy.
OSPREY. WHY NOT?
- Our ‘north star’: from our ESG principles to the project choices that will help make a difference, we want to help accelerate the energy transition.
- Our proven process: we’ll find a way of working that will save time across many months of project management – and money – throughout its lifecycle.
- Our expertise: we solve complex land and sea logistics, helping clients to install the critical infrastructure of tomorrow, today. Our teams have the strength to lead and the passion to succeed.
- Our philosophy: already, we’ve helped to move and install more than 220 onshore wind turbines, 24 offshore wind farms and 6,400 MW of low carbon nuclear infrastructure. These are all client-focused solutions, delivered in an environmental and safety focused culture.
- Our approach: we’re recognised as UK market leader with the highest of standards and accreditations. Our teams manifest an active and open learning culture across all of our activities.
THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT, THE RIGHT APPROACH
We’re proud to say we have the UK’s largest fleet of specialist barges, and an impressive range of onshore equipment that includes heavy lift cranes, crawler cranes, SPMTs, gantries, hoists and associated niche equipment – such as cable carousels.
Owning this extensive inventory means we can often provide specialist support at short notice, but for real value, early engagement is key. The sooner we’re involved, the earlier we can show you how Osprey makes a difference. Plus, by prioritising collaboration from the outset, we can also think and act quickly when challenges arise.
What’s more, we do all of this without compromising on safety or impacting schedules. Our QHSE team minimises risks to people, equipment and assets in equal measure.
INNOVATION IN ACTION
We promote an innovative culture – one that delights in drawing from cross-sector expertise to create solutions for the most challenging lifts and moves – but we’re also committed to creating realistic schedules, and then sticking to them. 100%.
On our case studies page, you’ll find project overviews that demonstrate we’re problem-solvers, through and through. The examples are organised by sector, but they highlight the Osprey Way of Working – we’re driven to find the best possible solution for each project.
Meet our teams
In end-to-end specialist logistics, experience and attitude count for a lot. Many of our team have been with us for years, but we’re also investing in the next generation of logistics specialists through graduate programmes and internships.
Meet the teams who contribute to our project solutions, who ensure we’re known for our approachability.
